Apple’s Upcoming iPhone SE: What to Expect
Apple is set to unveil its latest iPhone SE in the near future, according to a recent report by Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. This release is anticipated to happen “in the coming days.”
While the iPhone SE may not garner the same level of excitement as the flagship iPhone models, it holds significant strategic value for Apple. This new iteration might be particularly consequential for the company.
Insider reports suggest that the upcoming iPhone SE will undergo a complete redesign. Sources indicate that its appearance is expected to align closely with the iPhone 14, which features the traditional notch at the top, in contrast to the newer models equipped with the Dynamic Island technology.
This represents a significant upgrade over the current iPhone SE, which retains a physical Home button and has a fairly dated design, characterized by substantial bezels surrounding its 4.7-inch display.
In addition to the fresh design, the new model is expected to introduce notable technological advancements. These include integration with Apple’s A18 chip, enhanced Face ID capabilities, and a larger screen. The future iPhone SE is also rumored to utilize an Apple-designed cellular modem, marking a shift towards greater internal component consistency.
However, prospective buyers should be prepared for a potential price increase, as Gurman suggests that the improved features may lead Apple to raise the starting price above the current model’s $429.
The launch of the new iPhone SE may coincide with the debut of Apple’s PowerBeats Pro 2 earbuds, which are being projected to arrive around February 11.
Unlike many of its other flagship products, the iPhone SE is unlikely to be introduced with a dedicated launch event. Following its established practice, Apple is expected to make a formal announcement through a press release and update its website accordingly.
