Recently, The Luxury Travel Book unveiled its curated list of the top 50 global destinations for luxury dining, developed through meticulous research and social media analysis.
The list began with a specially selected group of restaurants known for their outstanding culinary offerings. The research team then evaluated each venue’s fine dining experiences and selected those that also serve up visually captivating environments. By analyzing Instagram hashtags and social media mentions, they identified the most photogenic Michelin-star establishments worldwide.
Leading the pack is Sketch, a unique establishment in London that combines elements of an art gallery and a dining venue. The research team praised it as the most aesthetically pleasing restaurant globally.
“Sketch in London secured the top spot with its whimsical pink dining room and avant-garde decor,” the team noted in their report. “The restaurant’s artistic interiors seamlessly merge art with dining, crafting an immersive experience.” The venue boasts over 95,000 Instagram posts tagged #SketchLondon, underscoring its appeal and charm.
The culinary experience at Sketch is overseen by celebrated chef Pierre Gagnaire, whose culinary expertise has earned the restaurant an impressive three Michelin stars. The Michelin review commented on the extraordinary detail and creativity of the dishes served, highlighting the exceptional cooking and innovative combinations presented.
“The afternoon tea is truly remarkable for its aesthetic appeal—it feels like stepping into a wonderland,” remarked Susmita Baral, an editor at T+L. She also emphasized the stunning restroom facilities that beckon for a photo opportunity.
Among other remarkable dining locations, The Luxury Travel Book ranked Eleven Madison Park in New York City as the second-most beautiful fine dining destination. Known for its sleek, luxurious atmosphere, this three-Michelin-star establishment has garnered 46,300 Instagram posts that highlight its sophisticated design.
Following closely are Italy’s Osteria Francescana with 41,200 mentions, Pierre Gagnaire in Paris with 31,800, and Belgium’s The Jane with 26,700 posts—completing the top five list.
Tokyo boasts the highest concentration of fine dining venues, being home to 170 Michelin-starred restaurants that have collectively earned an outstanding 220 Michelin stars, solidifying its reputation as a gastronomic hub likely filled with Instagram-worthy culinary experiences.
