Tyler James Williams Hopes for Eagles Super Bowl Victory
In a bid for a perfect outcome, Tyler James Williams, known for his role in Abbott Elementary, is hoping the Philadelphia Eagles secure a Super Bowl victory against the Kansas City Chiefs this Sunday.
“I want to believe that they can,” Williams expressed in a conversation with Gold Derby. Highlighting the Eagles’ strong performance, he noted that the Chiefs had seen difficulties against the ground game of the Buffalo Bills during the AFC Championship. “The Eagles have the best ground game in the league, and I truly don’t want to see a Kansas City repeat. If anyone can do it, it’s the Eagles right now,” he added.
The Chiefs, on the other hand, are aiming for a historic third consecutive Super Bowl win and their fourth title in six years. This matchup also serves as a rematch of the previous Super Bowl, where the Chiefs narrowly defeated the Eagles 38-35. Williams conveyed his confidence in the Eagles’ strategy: “They have to be really disciplined and let Saquon Barkley run the ball. Let him continue doing what he’s been doing. The Chiefs’ defense has been one of their vulnerabilities. We’ll see how it plays out.”

Despite being a New Yorker and a devoted Jets fan, Williams admitted that his loyalties shift during this game. “I wouldn’t typically say this, but right now, ‘Go Birds!’” he remarked, noting that he would wear his green and black attire, which aligns with the Eagles’ colors. “I’m going to be an adjacent-like cousin of Eagles fans, but as a Jets fan, I think they can do it,” he added.
The ties between the Eagles and Abbott Elementary have strengthened in recent seasons, evidenced by the cameo appearances of Eagles stars like quarterback Jalen Hurts, defensive end Brandon Graham, and retired center Jason Kelce in the Season 3 premiere. Additionally, renowned Eagles fan Bradley Cooper graced the show a few episodes later. If the Eagles achieve victory and claim their second Lombardi Trophy, Williams humorously suggested that their return to the show should be mandatory.
“I feel like at this point it should be mandatorily in their contract [to return] for being in Philly,” he joked. “It’s like, ‘Congrats, you’re here. You have to come stop by and say something.’ We come back, and they’ll come back with us. ‘Hey, get on the plane. Come back with us. Bradley, you come in.’ And all the other Eagles fans who’ve been waiting for this for so long — everybody gets a shot.”
