Vention has announced the enhancement of its online marketplace, introducing an expanded selection of automation and manufacturing components to better serve users. This upgrade is aimed at simplifying the process for businesses seeking to discover and integrate plug-and-play automation hardware.
Etienne Lacroix, the Founder and CEO of Vention, emphasized the growing popularity of their Marketplace, stating, “With this expansion and update, we’re making it easier than ever for businesses to find, purchase, and integrate compatible automation components quickly and efficiently.”
The products available in the Vention Marketplace are either produced directly by Vention or have been carefully selected and certified to ensure they are plug-and-play compatible. Recently, the number of partners providing these components has doubled, resulting in over 200 partner products now accessible in the marketplace.
Since its launch in 2019, the Vention Marketplace has expanded to include 25 different product categories. Improvements have also been made to user navigation, pricing transparency, and shipping timelines, making it easier for users to make informed purchase decisions.
The company, based in Montreal, Canada, aims to facilitate automation adoption for organizations of varying sizes, enabling them to enhance productivity, reduce operational costs, and achieve scalable growth. Vention proudly serves a customer base of over 4,000 clients across five continents.
The Quest for Automation Simplification
All products listed in the marketplace are also integrated into Vention’s free, user-friendly MachineBuilder software. This tool allows users to create digital twins, program functionalities, and manage the ordering and deployment process. In 2024 alone, users are reported to have designed more than 63,000 models using this software.
For manufacturers and procurement professionals, sourcing automation components can often prove complex. They need to ensure compatibility and integration within intricate factory settings. To address this challenge, Vention designed its marketplace to facilitate seamless integration through a plug-and-play ecosystem, significantly increasing the likelihood of successful component integration. The company continues to certify components from automation partners to ensure compatibility with its hardware ecosystem, which is rapidly gaining traction.
In 2024, Vention prioritized making automation accessible to small and medium-sized manufacturers. In June, the company partnered with NVIDIA to leverage artificial intelligence and accelerated computing, aiming to advance cloud robotics for smaller manufacturers. Both partners intend to utilize AI to create near-instantaneous digital twins with heightened efficiency.
Later in the year, Vention expanded its offerings by including ABB Robotics’ GoFa collaborative robot arms into its automation solutions. This collaboration means that Vention customers acquiring ABB’s GoFa cobots will experience enhanced integration from the design phase of robotic cells through to their operational deployment on the production floor.
