Warzone Specialist Alerts Players to New Attachment Risks

Season 2 of Black Ops 6 has introduced a new feature for the AEK-973 marksman rifle, but insights from Warzone YouTuber JGOD suggest that the changes might not live up to player expectations.

The “Terminator” event challenges gamers to collect skulls, which can be traded for various rewards. Players earn skulls by achieving kills in multiplayer modes, battling zombies, and scavenging for loot on Urizkstan and Rebirth Island.

This seasonal event includes 13 distinct rewards, featuring a new perk for Warzone, a scorestreak for Black Ops 6, and an attachment that modifies the AEK-973 from a burst rifle to a fully automatic weapon.

Treyarch has noted that the new attachment brings a controllable upward recoil when shooting, requiring players to slightly pull down on their left stick to manage it effectively. However, despite this adjustment, adept players are still finding recoil to be a concern.

Full Auto Mod falls short of expectations in Warzone Season 2

To unlock the Full Auto Mod, players must collect 50 skulls. Engaging in the Stakeout or Nuketown 24/7 playlists is advisable, as these more compact maps provide ample opportunity to secure gunfight victories and earn eliminations.

JGOD remarked on the weapon’s performance, commenting, “The bullet velocity is decent, but the recoil feels a bit excessive. It may be enjoyable to use at mid-range, but it falls short compared to the AMAX.”

Historical context suggests that players familiar with past titles will recall the CR-56 AMAX, which stood out as one of the game’s most effective weapons during its time in Verdansk in Modern Warfare 2019. Unfortunately, the new attachment seems unlikely to replicate that level of success for the AEK-973.

Statistics from TrueGameData indicate that the Goblin Mk2 is currently the fastest-killing weapon in Season 2, with a TTK of 649 milliseconds up to 40 meters. In contrast, the AK-74 and Cypher 091 weapons exhibit kill times around 750 milliseconds within the same range.

Unfortunately, the performance of the Full Auto Mod attachment on the AEK-973 does not position it competitively alongside the top-tier weapons in Warzone.

Its effectiveness in Black Ops 6 multiplayer remains uncertain, but it seems unlikely that players will frequently choose the Marksman Rifle in Warzone lobbies. For further updates concerning Call of Duty, players can refer to the patch notes released on February 3.
