2025 SAG Awards: Highlights and Predictions
The recent 2025 Screen Actors Guild Awards witnessed an impressive display of predictive skills, particularly from Gold Derby user Voyage, who achieved an outstanding prediction score of 93.33 percent. This remarkable accuracy placed Voyage ahead of 17 other contestants who also performed commendably, with the closest score being 86.67 percent. Notably, Voyage maximized their scoring potential by strategically using two Super Bets worth 500 points each, culminating in a total of 6,161 points.
In total, 3,558 participants globally attempted to forecast the winners of this year’s awards, with the top performer accurately predicting 14 out of the 15 categories. The awards ceremony, hosted by actress Kristen Bell, showcased a mix of popular favorites and surprising victories. Among the standout predictions included Timothée Chalamet for Best Film Actor for his role in A Complete Unknown, Martin Short for Best TV Comedy Actor, and Only Murders in the Building for Best TV Comedy Ensemble. The one category that did not go as predicted was Best Picture, where Conclave took home the award, eluding the predictions of many.

Participants can view their scores against others on the leaderboard, which tracks each user’s predictions. To check your score, simply navigate to the User menu located in the upper right corner of the Gold Derby website after logging in. From there, you can select “View Profile” and find links to your “Award Show Scores.”
Among the Gold Derby editors, Denton Davidson and Matt Noble led the way with 80 percent accuracy in their predictions. Following closely were Rob Licuria and Daniel Montgomery with scores of 73.33 percent, while other editors like Charles Bright, Marcus James Dixon, Ray Richmond, and Chris Beachum scored 66.67 percent. Debra Birnbaum, Joyce Eng, and Christopher Rosen all managed a respectable 60 percent accuracy. For detailed editor scores, participants can refer to the Gold Derby platform.
Among the 28 expert forecasters, Keith Simanton from IMDb secured the top spot with an impressive 86.67 percent accuracy. Following him was Scott Mantz from KTLA, who achieved 80 percent correctness. There was also a noteworthy six-way tie for 73.33 percent, featuring prominent figures like Scott Feinberg of Hollywood Reporter and Cole Jaeger from The Oscar Expert. Other contributors such as Thelma Adams and Shawn Edwards posted scores of 66.67 percent, while a few experts like Birnbaum and Rosen ended up with 60 percent.
Additionally, several experts finished with lower percentages, including Peter Travers from ABC at 53.33 percent and Janelle Riley from Variety at 46.67 percent.
