The Tony Awards Administration Committee has announced the recipients of the 2025 Tony Honors for Excellence in the Theatre, recognizing four significant contributors to the Broadway landscape: Great Performances, Michael Price, New 42, and The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts.

Established in 1990, the Tony Honors celebrate extraordinary accomplishments in theater that do not fall within the traditional award categories of the Tony Awards. This recognition aims to highlight the invaluable work of various individuals, organizations, and institutions that play a pivotal role in bringing theater to life.

“Our Tony Honors acknowledge the multitude of behind-the-scenes figures who contribute to the magic of theater. They transform scripts into performances, going beyond established categories,” commented Jason Laks, President of the Broadway League, alongside Heather Hitchens, President & CEO of the American Theatre Wing. “We are excited to honor these unsung heroes during Broadway’s most celebrated night.”

The 78th Annual Tony Awards will take place at the iconic Radio City Music Hall in New York City later this year. Hosted by the multi-talented Cynthia Erivo, a Tony, Emmy, and GRAMMY Award-winner, the ceremony will be broadcast live on Sunday, June 8, 2025, from 8:00 PM to 11:00 PM ET, with streaming available on Paramount+ in the U.S.

Nominations for the 2025 Tony Awards are set to be unveiled on Thursday, May 1, at 9:00 AM ET live on the Tony Awards YouTube Page.

The New Victory Theater, part of New 42, has become synonymous with high-quality performances tailored for children and families. Celebrated for its education and engagement programs, it strives to make the arts accessible to all New Yorkers and has received numerous accolades, including the National Arts and Humanities Youth Program Award.

Since its launch in 2000, it has hosted significant productions that have left a mark on Broadway, including multiple Tony Award winners, reinforcing its reputation as a home for innovation in the performing arts.

With a mission to enhance public access to the performing arts, The New York Public Library for the Performing Arts has been a cornerstone resource since its inception in 1965. Recognized for its extensive collections that include dance, theater, and music archives, the Library offers free access to its materials along with a variety of programs aimed at enriching the creative process.
