Rapid Response Network Verifies ICE Operations in San Jose

The Brief

Reports indicate that Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents were conducting operations in San Jose, specifically targeting areas near residences and shopping centers.

Local government officials have since addressed these developments.

SAN JOSE, Calif. – ICE agents were observed this past Sunday in San Jose, as reported by the Rapid Response Network’s hotline operating within Santa Clara County.

The organization received alerts regarding agents’ activities near a home on South White Road at Tully Road and behind a Target store located at King and Story Roads.

Members of the Rapid Response Network noted that although they monitored the situation, no detentions were witnessed, leading them to believe the agents were enforcing specific deportation orders rather than making immediate arrests.

“We advise the community to remain safe and vigilant,” expressed the Rapid Response Network. “Your safety remains our foremost concern, and our responders are on standby to assist and protect our community.”

As of the late afternoon, reports indicated that ICE agents had vacated the area surrounding King and Story Roads.

The San Jose Police Department stated they had no additional information regarding ICE’s activities in the city.

In a related comment, San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan acknowledged being aware of ICE’s presence, emphasizing his hope that enforcement efforts would prioritize serious offenders rather than targeting law-abiding community members.

The mayor’s office clarified that the police department does not collaborate with ICE on any operations.

KTVU reached out to ICE for comments but did not obtain a response by the time of publishing.
