The 27-year-old Manzano passed away on Wednesday, as confirmed by KGKC in a recent statement. He was covering the prestigious event not only for Telemundo Kansas City but also for Tico Sports.

Details surrounding the cause of Manzano’s death have not been released, and KGKC is currently cooperating with law enforcement as they investigate this tragic incident.

KGKC General Manager Steve Downing highlighted Manzano’s excitement about covering the Super Bowl, describing how he was looking forward to witnessing such a significant event in sports history. Downing emphasized that Manzano was passionate not only about sports but also about his community, and his enthusiasm was infectious.
As Telemundo Kansas City’s sole representative in New Orleans, Manzano was viewed as an integral part of the local sports journalism landscape. Downing mentioned their intention to lean on their partnership with TICO Sports during this challenging time.

Originally from Mexico City, Manzano moved to Topeka, Kansas, in 2018, where he completed his studies at Kansas State University. He was married to Ashleigh Boyd and had a daughter, Eleanor. Tragically, Boyd lost her life in a car accident last April.
As an award-winning journalist, Manzano received recognition from the Kansas Association of Broadcasters in 2024 for his outstanding contributions to the field.
