Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina Face Scrutiny for Controversial Remarks on India’s Got Latent
Ranveer Allahbadia’s remarks have drawn considerable public outrage.
Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina are expected to visit the Maharashtra Cyber Office today, February 28, to provide statements regarding the ongoing debate surrounding Allahbadia’s controversial comments on the show, India’s Got Latent. Reports indicate that Apoorva Makheja, another guest from the episode, will also be questioned by officials during this session.
Overview of the India’s Got Latent Controversy
Both Ranveer Allahbadia and Samay Raina have come under fire for statements made during a recent episode of India’s Got Latent. During the show, Allahbadia, widely referred to as BeerBiceps, reportedly asked a contestant an inappropriate question involving sexual innuendos and suggested an indecent act in return for a substantial sum of Rs 2 crore. The situation escalated when he posed the provocative query: “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join once to end it forever?”
In the aftermath of these comments, a police complaint was lodged against Allahbadia, Raina, and several other judges, including Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. The FIR claims that the actions of those involved promote obscenity and sexually explicit content on the show, leading to the application of various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
Ranveer Allahbadia’s Response to the Controversy
In light of the backlash, Ranveer Allahbadia took to social media to issue an apology through a video message. He acknowledged, “The comment I made was not only inappropriate but also lacked humor. Comedy isn’t my strength, and I want to apologize sincerely. Many of you questioned my use of this platform, and I assure you, this isn’t how I intend to utilize it. I will not attempt to offer context or justification for my words; I am here simply to express regret.”
Subsequently, Samay Raina opted to remove all episodes of India’s Got Latent from YouTube, signaling the gravity of the situation and the need for accountability.
