Warning: Spoilers for Reacher Season 3, Episode 6.
As the thrilling conclusion of Season 3 approaches, Reacher ramps up the tension. Following last week’s dramatic cliffhanger, Reacher (Alan Ritchson) finally confronts Julius McCabe. Contrary to some theories, it’s confirmed that McCabe and Xavier Quinn (Brian Tee) are indeed one and the same, which might be a letdown for those expecting a twist.
Despite this predictable revelation, an intriguing development unfolds: Quinn appears to suffer from retrograde amnesia and has no memories of Reacher from their past encounters. His claims about amnesia during his recovery are seemingly validated, adding a layer of complexity to their confrontation.
Confronted with a presumed dead enemy, Reacher momentarily lowers his weapon when he discovers that Teresa (Storm Steenson) is alive. Teresa has overheard sensitive information regarding Quinn/McCabe’s gun operation, but she is being kept as leverage to finalize a deal with Quinn’s clients. This revelation prompts Reacher to defer his vengeance, prioritizing the safety of Teresa and aligning with Duffy (Sonya Cassidy) to find a way out.
This noble decision leads to an unexpected romantic moment when Duffy kisses Reacher, catching both off guard. Despite the initial surprise and Duffy’s mixed feelings about the act, it underscores her pivotal role as the primary female presence this season. Reacher’s trend of romantic encounters continues, reinforcing his pattern of forming essential connections each season.
Richard Learns the Truth About His Kidnapping and Reacher
During an outing with Richard (Johnny Berchtold), Reacher has a clandestine meeting with Duffy to return her badge, culminating in their kiss. But the moment takes a turn when Villanueva (Roberto Montesinos) unexpectedly appears, stirring Reacher’s irritation as he had wanted the exchange to remain private. This encounter triggers memories for Richard about Villanueva’s deception surrounding his kidnapping.
Soon after, Richard discovers the truth behind his kidnapping and Reacher’s actual identity. Despite the shock of learning everything, he vows to keep it a secret, recognizing that revealing too much could lead to consequences for his father. The knowledge weighs heavy, but he understands that it may be safer than remaining under Quinn/McCabe’s oppressive rule. Unfortunately for Reacher, this new dynamic complicates his covert investigations into Beck and Quinn/McCabe’s illicit activities.
McCabe Makes a House Call and Blows Reacher’s Cover
Amid increasing paranoia, Quinn/McCabe orders his team to root out any spies within his organization. In this ruthless pursuit, Powell (Owen Roth) is eliminated for withholding information, while Neagley (Maria Sten) manages to evade capture and warn Reacher about Quinn/McCabe’s suspicions. The investigation inevitably leads to Reacher’s past in the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, and Quinn/McCabe’s unexpected visit to Beck’s home reveals Reacher’s connection.
With his identity compromised, Reacher narrowly escapes but is left without the intel he needs on Quinn/McCabe’s operations. The loss of his cover throws a wrench into their plans, as neither he nor Duffy can ascertain when or where significant arms deals are set to occur. Nevertheless, their focus shifts to Teresa’s location, motivated by the urgency of her situation.
As they delve deeper into their perilous circumstances, Reacher and Richard find themselves increasingly at the mercy of Quinn/McCabe’s wrath. Quinn/McCabe’s violent manipulation intensifies when he forces Richard into a terrifying game of Russian roulette, making it clear he is gearing up to inflict more physical torment. Anticipation builds as viewers wait for Reacher to finally confront and eliminate Quinn/McCabe, a showdown all but guaranteed in the upcoming finale.
Reacher and Duffy Set Out to Find Teresa
In a tactical move, Reacher and Duffy trace Quinn/McCabe’s special-order dress number for Teresa to Port Rome, where they encounter Harley (Brendan Fletcher) at the marina. Their discovery of a boat suggests Teresa may be nearby, but they soon learn she has been relocated on Quinn/McCabe’s orders. After a heated confrontation with Harley, the situation escalates, leading to the destruction of the boat.
With their leads extinguished and Teresa seemingly out of reach, Reacher formulates a new plan that requires heading to Los Angeles for an ally who might offer insider information. Reacher Season 3 is streaming on Prime Video, with new episodes dropping every Thursday, culminating in the season finale on March 27, 2025.
