Katy Perry continues to surprise her global fan base with her bold fashion statements, shifting from her signature quirky outfits to a more minimalist aesthetic. These days, she often adopts a “less is more” philosophy, leading to some strikingly memorable naked dress moments.
Her latest ensemble was showcased at a birthday celebration for Hollywood’s renowned “super-connector” Michael Kives over the weekend, where she sported an audacious see-through outfit that could easily be considered one of her most daring looks to date.
Katy’s Bold Sheer Gown
A figure known for her controversial fashion choices, Katy Perry has always attracted attention with her bold outfits. This trend of naked dressing began for her in March 2024, wherein she pushed boundaries with glimpses of skin and playful fashion moments. Now, however, she’s taking her experimentation further with a look that boldly displays even more of her figure.
On March 15, the 40-year-old star dazzled in a striking Zuhair Murad gown from the designer’s Spring/Summer 2025 collection, which left little to the imagination. Styled by Katie Qian, the gown featured a plunging halter neckline and a bra adorned with beads that accentuated her cleavage. The design included extensive cutouts along the sides and around her belly button, effectively revealing much of her midsection.
The gown was further embellished with an intricate pattern that evoked the beauty of butterfly wings, aligning with her current artistic era, affectionately termed 143. She expressed this butterfly inspiration in her social media post: “37 days till this bedazzled butterfly takes flight on The Lifetimes Tour!”
Where the stripes ceased, sheer fabric provided visibility of her pelvic area and legs, further enhancing the garment’s daring nature. The sheer material extended to the gown’s hem, complemented by a silver, black, and brown striped design.
In terms of styling, Perry opted for her trademark dark locks, worn loosely in soft waves, while her makeup featured a dramatic smoky eye along with a muted nude lip — a look crafted by hairstylist Andrew Ly and makeup artist Alexandra French.
