Grant Ellis has concluded his journey on “The Bachelor,” successfully finding his partner.
However, the path to engagement was fraught with difficult decisions. Ellis faced the challenge of choosing between his final two contestants, Litia Garr and Juliana Pasquarosa. In a pivotal moment during the finale, he sought guidance from his parents, who reunited in person for the first time in several years to meet both women.
In a final emotional decision, Ellis chose to send Garr home, presenting his last rose to Pasquarosa. The engagement proposal took place in the picturesque setting of Punta Cana, where Ellis and Pasquarosa celebrated their new commitment.
Ellis began his “Bachelor” journey with 25 women, initially giving his first impression rose to Alexe, a 27-year-old pediatric speech therapist hailing from New Brunswick, Canada.
As the competition progressed, by the time of the hometown dates, Ellis narrowed his choices to Garr, Pasquarosa, Dina Lupancu, and Zoe McGrady. Following these dates, he eliminated Lupancu, and after spending the night with each remaining contestant during the fantasy suites stage, he ultimately said goodbye to McGrady.
Describing his experience, Ellis commented, “Casting did a really good job with these ladies — they’re one of a kind. It really was difficult for me at the end, just because I had two amazing women. And at the end of the day, I went with my heart.”
The season finale featured an emotional reunion where Garr expressed her shock at the decision and conveyed that she believed Ellis made the right choice for himself. Following the proposal, Ellis and Pasquarosa joined host Jesse Palmer to announce their plans to move to Boston together and enjoy their engagement, with Palmer surprising them with a trip to Italy as a gift.
Amid this season’s unfolding drama, the “Bachelor” franchise is experiencing significant changes. Showrunners Claire Freeland and Bennett Graebner departed just prior to the Season 29 finale, following reports that highlighted a toxic work environment. Additionally, the franchise is planning to alter its traditional production timeline for the upcoming season of “The Bachelorette,” usually aired during summer months.
Before the season finale concluded, viewers were given a glimpse of the future with a preview of “Bachelor in Paradise.” Set to make its return this summer after a hiatus, this new season will feature an exciting twist: contestants from the “Golden Bachelor” and “Golden Bachelorette” will join alongside younger participants in a unique blend of generations in Mexico. This announcement marks the first significant change for Season 10, which appointed “Summer House” executive producer Scott Teti as the new showrunner.
