John Karangis, Shake Shack’s executive chef and vice president of culinary innovation, emphasized the intent behind the new shake: “Our goal was to pay homage to the Dubai chocolate bar and turn it into a delicious shake. Every element was crafted to capture the bar’s signature layers and textures while staying true to the Shake Shack experience. We hope our fans are as excited about it as we are.”

The distinctive flavor blend combines vanilla frozen custard with rich 100% pistachio paste and roasted kataifi, a type of shredded phyllo dough. It’s crowned with chopped pistachios and more toasted kataifi, while the interior is generously swirled with dark chocolate sauce that sets into a pleasingly crackable shell—ideal for social media sharing among dessert lovers.

Shake Shack revealed that the inspiration for this dessert came from their international team recognizing the rising popularity of the Dubai Chocolate Bar in the Middle East. This tantalizing shake made its debut in the region on February 10 and quickly garnered attention across social media platforms. Shortly thereafter, Shake Shack teased the arrival of this delectable shake for its Western markets.
