Akshay Kumar Calls Kesari Chapter 2 ‘One of the Most Important Films’
The highly anticipated film, Keshari Chapter 2: The Untold Story of Jallianwala Bagh, featuring Akshay Kumar, R Madhavan, and Ananya Panday, has officially premiered in theatres as of April 18. Prior to the film’s debut, a special screening was organized for industry insiders, where Akshay Kumar shared an important message for audiences.
Release Insights: During media interactions, Akshay emphasized the significance of the film, stating, “When you come to watch this film, don’t miss the beginning. The first 10 minutes are crucial to understanding the narrative. I believe this film will resonate with viewers profoundly. Its release is timely, and those who choose to see it will appreciate its message from the onset.”
At a subsequent screening in Delhi, Akshay reinforced his request, urging attendees to minimize distractions. He remarked, “I humbly request you all to please keep your phones in your pockets and pay attention to every dialogue. It would mean a lot to the film’s integrity. If you check your Instagram during the screening, it detracts from the experience for everyone. So I ask everyone to keep their phones away.”
The film navigates one of the most tragic episodes in Indian history: the Jallianwala Bagh massacre that occurred on April 13, 1919. It tells the story of C. Sankaran Nair, portrayed by Akshay Kumar, a courageous lawyer who confronted the British Raj in a battle for justice for the victims of this horrifying event.
Directed by Karan Singh Tyagi and produced by Karan Johar, Keshari Chapter 2 sparked discussions even before its official release. Notably, Tyagi recently commented on a documentary featuring the great-granddaughter of General Dyer, who infamously ordered the massacre. He mentioned that her attempt to justify the actions by labeling the unarmed crowd as looters was deeply troubling.
