Color, texture, and elements from nature elegantly intertwine in the bohemian designs of Justina Blakeney. The artist, who is also the founder of Jungalow, showcases this synergy in her first solo exhibition entitled “California Poppy.” Open until May 30, this exhibition showcases Blakeney’s artwork within the luxurious living spaces of Una Casa Privada, a villa designed by Una Malan, surrounded by lush gardens. Hosted by Art Wolf Gallery, Blakeney’s new collection reflects on the devastating Eaton Fire, exploring themes of shimmering waters, undulating hills, and lush forms, with the California poppy flower serving as a powerful emblem of hope, renewal, and resilience throughout her pieces.
Colony Curates New Emerging Artists
The latest works from up-and-coming artists will be displayed at Colony’s gallery in Tribeca until April 30.
Jean Lin, the founder of Colony, has consistently supported the growth of new artists. This commitment is evident in the co-op, design studio, and strategy firm’s annual eight-month Designers’ Residency program. The third installment, led by Lin alongside art director Madeleine Parsons, highlights creations from residents including Another World, Blake C. Joshua, and MTM Studio. Their exhibition opens on April 17 and will remain available until the end of April. This year, Youtian Duan and Yingxi Ji from Another World unveil a fantastical capsule collection, while Joshua’s collection reflects on themes surrounding the African diaspora. Additionally, Maxwell Taylor-Milner of MTM Studio presents a trilogy of objects including a mirror, desk, and lamp, each inspired by the rural desert landscape.

Rose Ink Workshop Reveals Crest Club
Liubasha Rose, who founded the Miami and New York-based studio Rose Ink Workshop, first gained recognition in 2021 with her design at the Madeline Hotel & Residences in Telluride, part of the Auberge Resorts Collection. In her latest project, Crest Club, she expands on the European ski resort-inspired designs originally envisioned for the property’s luxurious accommodations. The members-only lounge boasts an elegant yet indulgent atmosphere, featuring patterned flooring reminiscent of vintage ski sweaters, sophisticated antique mirrors, and striking marble surfaces. The cocktail experience is enhanced at the scalloped-tile-clad bar in the Falcon Room, an inviting space illuminated by warm amber-hued glass chandeliers.
Alongside interior aesthetics, visitors can enjoy artworks by Curtis Kulig and Paul Fernay, ceramics by Steffany Tran of Vy Voi, and an assortment of rare books at Noah.
AD PRO Notes…
The fashion label Noah continues to stand out in Nolita. Cofounder Estelle Bailey-Babenzien seized the opportunity to take over the neighboring storefront, designing it herself. The newly opened 199 Mulberry captures the essence of an antique ship, adorned with cedar panels and filled with vintage timepieces and jewelry curated by Alan Bedwell of Foundwell. The shop’s aesthetic complements the brand’s Americana-inspired menswear, weaving together a rich narrative.
