On Saturday afternoon, fans can look forward to exciting racing events from Newton Abbot and Wolverhampton, both of which will be broadcast live on Sky Sports Racing.
4.19 Newton Abbot – Heltenham and Scarface vie for top honors
Trainer Dan Skelton is embroiled in a fierce competition for the Trainers’ Championship, and Heltenham aims to bolster his earnings in the Plymouth Motor Company Handicap Chase at Newton Abbot. Despite experiencing a dip in form this season, Heltenham, a five-time winner over fences, should benefit from a lower class of competition and runs two pounds below his last winning mark.
Scarface, who finished a solid second at Newbury, poses a significant threat, especially after that form was validated at Cheltenham this week. Under the guidance of Brendan Powell, he will be a contender to watch.
Meanwhile, Royal Jewel, having adapted well to the challenges of fences, looks set to challenge strongly for a placing as well.
5.55 Wolverhampton – Red Sand and Jolly Roger in competitive novice stakes
Red Sand, trained by Ed Walker, enters the fray after a successful maiden win at Goodwood in May. His highly-anticipated return comes in the Race And Rest – Wolverhampton Holiday Inn Novice Stakes, showcasing the notable jockey Tom Marquand.
Jolly Roger has shown considerable improvement since his debut, having won convincingly at Kempton in December despite facing a challenging wide draw. He is certainly a strong contender in this race.
Add to that Warrior Mode, who successfully debuted over the same course and distance last month while overcoming some initial inexperience. He cannot be overlooked under Sir Mark Prescott’s guidance and Luke Morris’s riding.
2.34 Newton Abbot – Military Tycoon and Outside Adesa face off
Military Tycoon achieved his first win over hurdles with a strong performance against Ivane at Fontwell last month and is expected to make another bold attempt in the Tribute Novices’ Limited Handicap Hurdle, racing off a seven-pound increase in weight.
Outside Adesa enters this race with an intriguing profile, as he secured a point-to-point victory at Charlton Horethorne. This race marks his debut for the Kayley Woollacott team, making him one to watch.
Additionally, El Bandido Pancho looks to improve after finishing second as the favorite at Ffos Las. As he steps up in distance, he could make a strong bid for victory.

3.09 Newton Abbot
Time To Bite is on a promising streak, having won twice consecutively at Taunton and Exeter. He aims to secure a hat-trick in the Trojan Motor Company And Instant Justice Handicap Chase at Newton Abbot. Having previously won over this course and distance, he faces the challenge of a three-pound increase in weight to achieve this feat.
5.29 Newton Abbot – Coconut Twist looks for his third consecutive victory
Coconut Twist has demonstrated consistent performance, finishing outside the top three only once in his last eight outings. He competes in the St. Austell Brewery Handicap Hurdle after claiming victory in his last two races, most notably overcoming a strong mare who was herself on a winning streak.
Though he enters off a career-high mark, Coconut Twist’s progression suggests he could deliver another impressive performance, provided he handles the quick nine-day turnaround.
Randwick – Group One Racing Riches
Saturday morning also features high-stakes Group One action from Randwick, with the Moet & Chandon Champagne Stakes and Schweppes All Aged Stakes at the forefront. Last year, top Godolphin colt Broadsiding claimed the Champagne Stakes, and this year’s event promises a host of potential superstars, prominently featuring contenders like Nepotism and State Visit.
Broadsiding returns to the track after his notable success in the Rosehill Guineas and aims to leverage a drop back in distance to enhance his performance, although he will have to contend with a strong field of Group One competitors who could prove challenging.
