Abby Lee Miller has addressed Kelly Hyland’s current struggle with cancer, reflecting on their tumultuous history from the “Dance Moms” days filled with drama and legal disputes. Miller emphasized that she feels Kelly has adequate support and does not require her assistance, given that she felt unsupported during her own health crisis.
Miller shared with TMZ that she cannot fully connect with Kelly’s experiences of triumph, such as her celebratory ring of the hospital bell following her second breast cancer treatment initiated in 2023. Abby pointed out that she was gravely ill herself, battling Burkitt lymphoma at the time.
Abby underwent urgent spinal surgery in April 2018 after doctors found a mass that was pressing on her spine, leading to severe pain and paralysis.
While complimenting Kelly’s three children, who she noted are thriving with their loving father and ex-husband at their side, Abby expressed that she does not see the need to reach out to the Hyland family personally. Despite their past disagreements, she holds no ill will and extends her good wishes to Kelly and her family.
The history between Abby and Kelly is marked by their exit from “Dance Moms” in 2014 after a highly publicized physical altercation, which subsequently led to a series of legal challenges. Since then, there has been little interaction between the two.
Kelly pursued legal action against Abby on two separate occasions: first for a physical altercation during a show taping, and later for emotional distress experienced by her daughter. The disputes were ultimately settled, with Collins Entertainment agreeing to pay $17,500 for property damages Kelly claimed were incurred during filming.
