A Fellow Soldier Reflects on BTS’ V’s Military Experience
BTS members, including V, are anticipated to complete their military service by July.
As V of BTS approaches the end of his military service alongside his bandmates, insights into his experience have emerged. A fellow soldier who served in the same unit has shared a heartfelt message on social media, showcasing previously unseen images of Kim Tae-hyung in uniform and commending his commitment despite facing physical challenges, including shoulder and leg injuries. The soldier highlighted V’s achievements, such as securing top honors in shooting and excelling in various training exercises, and receiving the Military Police Exemplary Award for his dedication.
In an emotional post on Instagram, the soldier expressed gratitude for their shared experiences during their military tenure, lamenting he hadn’t adequately conveyed his appreciation before departing. He noted, “Even with your physical struggles, you consistently excelled, achieving perfect scores in shooting and leading in winter training drills. Your determination really inspired me.” He fondly recalled their final physical test together, a 3km run, where they supported each other to achieve outstanding results ahead of schedule.
The post included memories of their workouts together, regardless of weather conditions, and acknowledged V’s contributions, such as the equipment he donated that significantly improved their training environment. The soldier admitted he would always remember the effort they put in together and expressed gratitude for the meals V treated him to, joking about the unforgettable eel sushi they enjoyed.
Concluding his message, the soldier credited V’s “consistency and passion” for motivating him to pursue a career as a rehabilitation therapist. He shared that observing Kim Tae-hyung’s commitment to fitness helped him maintain focus on his own goals during their time in service, stating that V’s presence made his military experience more meaningful. He vowed to embody the same spirit of perseverance that V exemplified.
With Jin and J-Hope already having completed their service, the remaining BTS members—Suga, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook—are set to conclude their military obligations by July. Nevertheless, fans may have to exercise patience as the group may not reunite for performances immediately following their service.
