The renowned actor expressed his profound sadness and frustration in response to a horrific terror attack that took place in Pahalgam, Kashmir. On Wednesday, the Bollywood icon shared his thoughts on his social media account, emphasizing his sorrow for those who lost their lives and emphasizing the need for collective solidarity during this poignant time.
“Words cannot adequately convey the sorrow and outrage at the betrayal and brutal violence witnessed in Pahalgam. In such dark moments, we must turn to our faith and pray for the families in mourning, while extending my heartfelt condolences to them. To provide context, the attack occurred when armed terrorists, linked to the Lashkar-e-Taiba group, opened fire on tourists in Pahalgam on Tuesday afternoon, resulting in the tragic loss of around 27 lives. Eyewitness reports indicated that two to three individuals disguised in military uniforms carried out the assault, targeting people who were enjoying a day out at the scenic Baisaran Meadows while on horseback. The Responsibility for this terror act was claimed by The Resistance Front (TRF), a faction associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba.
Following the attack, security forces were deployed to the region, and a significant counter-terror operation was initiated to locate and apprehend the attackers. Distressing footage captured in the wake of the assault displayed numerous victims sprawled on the ground, and frantic scenes of loved ones searching for each other amidst the chaos.
In addition to Shah Rukh Khan, many other notable figures from the film industry, including Siddharth Malhotra, Sonu Sood, Anupam Kher, Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt, Priyanka Chopra, and Allu Arjun, have also voiced their shock and outrage regarding the terror attack.
