Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda’s film Jaat, released on April 10, 2025, is performing well, crossing Rs 100 crore globally.

Sunny Deol stars as ‘Baldev Pratap Singh’ in Jaat.

Since its release on April 10, 2025, Sunny Deol and Randeep Hooda’s Jaat has been making waves at the box office, recently achieving a remarkable feat by surpassing Rs 100 crore globally. The film enjoyed a significant boost in audience turnout, with occupancy rising sharply by 52.94% on Sunday, translating to an additional Rs 2 crore in earnings, bringing its total to Rs 84.90 crore.

Domestically, Jaat has also shown strong performance, with the film adding another Rs 2 crore to its already impressive haul, as reported by industry tracker Sacnilk. By Thursday, it reached the noteworthy milestone of Rs 100 crore worldwide as it entered its third week of release with sustained momentum. On Sunday, Sacnilk noted a consistent 20.73% occupancy for Hindi showings.

Analyzing occupancy trends, Jaat experienced slight fluctuations earlier in the week, recording 11.40% on Saturday, dropping to 7.58% on Friday, and 9.57% on Thursday. However, its regional performance remained robust, particularly in Bengaluru, which led with an occupancy rate of 37.67%. Other significant contributors included cities like Jaipur (26.33%), Bhopal (25.67%), Mumbai (25%), Pune (23%), and Kolkata (22%), all helping to sustain a solid box office presence.

Directed by Gopichand Malineni, marking his Hindi debut, Jaat is an action thriller produced by Mythri Movie Makers and People Media Factory. The film features an ensemble cast including Sunny Deol, Randeep Hooda, Saiyami Kher, Regina Cassandra, Jagapathi Babu, Ramya Krishnan, Vineet Kumar Singh, Prashant Bajaj, Zarina Wahab, P. Ravi Shankar, and Babloo Prithiveeraj.

The narrative centers around Brigadier Baldev Pratap Singh, affectionately known as “Jaat.” While traveling from Chennai to Ayodhya by train, his journey is abruptly interrupted due to an accident in a village near Chirala. After stepping off for a brief meal, he becomes embroiled in a conflict with Ranatunga, also referred to as Muthuvel Karikalan—a former Deputy Commander of the Jaffna Tiger Force. Ranatunga’s oppressive rule over the village, supported by corrupt local authorities, sets the stage for heightened tensions.

As Jaat observes the pervasive fear and hardship endured by the villagers, he realizes he cannot remain a bystander. He resolves to take action against the tyrannical regime, leading to a gripping face-off between the valiant brigadier and the formidable warlord.

A portion of Jaat’s review by News18 highlights, “Action enthusiasts are in for a treat as this film encapsulates the quintessential dhishoom-dhishoom experience reminiscent of the ’90s. Every strike lands, adversaries are sent flying, and the intense background score amplifies the action. The escalating tension and climactic encounters between Jaat and Rana Thunga create an exhilarating viewing experience, demanding the audience’s full engagement.”
