Charlamagne tha God Critiques Schumer and Jeffries on Big Money in Politics

Charlamagne tha God has called out the apparent hypocrisy of Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries regarding their newfound concerns about the influence of money in politics.

Speaking on “The Breakfast Club,” Charlamagne criticized their discussions around the topic, saying, “I think it’s ridiculous. These conversations about oligarchy are just… Now Bernie [Sanders] and AOC can address ‘Fight the oligarchy.’ But Hakeem Jeffries? Not from your position, given the corporate backing you’ve accepted.”

He further expressed skepticism regarding their critiques of billionaires who he argues heavily influence political outcomes, questioning their sincerity. “You, Hakeem? Really? Chuck Schumer, really?” he added.

Data from OpenSecrets.org highlights that Schumer’s campaign financing includes significant contributions from major corporations, including Blackstone Group and L3Harris Technologies.

SCHUMER REFUSES TO RULE OUT IMPEACHMENT: ‘TRUMP IS VIOLATING RULE OF LAW IN EVERY WAY’

Charlamagne’s remarks reflect broader frustrations with political leaders perceived as out of touch with grassroots concerns. In earlier reports, it came to light that Democracy PAC II, which is linked to George Soros, donated a total of $6 million to Schumer’s Senate Majority PAC over recent years.

Similarly, Jeffries has received notable funding from prominent firms like BlackRock Inc and Lockheed Martin, as noted on OpenSecrets.org.

Moreover, in February, Politico revealed that Jeffries held a private meeting with influential donors from Silicon Valley.

Charlamagne humorously remarked, “Many believe Joe Biden should take the lead on rebuilding the party. To them, I say: Hunter, lay off the crack,” effectively underlining the complexities of leadership within the Democratic Party.

He then highlighted Jeffries, showing a clip of him outside the U.S. Capitol discussing democracy, captioned with the stark imagery of Jeffries dressed casually without a tie.

Extending his critique, Charlamagne referred to Schumer as “Payless Obama’s counterpart” and described him as “even less inspiring.”

Charlamagne has previously expressed strong opinions about both leaders, suggesting that their continued leadership may not serve the Democratic Party well.

On Sunday, Jeffries participated with Senator Cory Booker in a sit-in at the U.S. Capitol to protest President Trump’s budget proposal, which they argue would negatively affect critical social services like Social Security and Medicare.

Efforts to secure comments from Schumer and Jeffries went unanswered at the time of reporting.
