Innovative Bed-Making Method Gains Popularity Online

In a recent viral TikTok video, a man has shared an unconventional approach to making his bed that has captivated millions. With over 6.8 million views, Conor O’Brien reveals how he begins the task before even stepping out from under the covers.

O’Brien opens his video by saying, “This is something that I do that I’ve never seen done before and I want to share with you.” He then demonstrates his unique technique while still in bed, explaining, “Let’s pretend that I’m asleep and I just woke up for a brand new day. What I’ll do is set this pillow here, I’ll set this pillow here, then I’ve got another one, that goes there. And what I’ll do is I’ll start to make it and I’ll tuck it in.”

Once he has arranged the bedding to his satisfaction, O’Brien describes how he maneuvers his way out, noting, “The first time my feet touch the ground, my bed’s already made.”

Since the video’s release, viewer reactions have been mixed, with over 14,000 comments addressing the method. While some viewers are enthusiastic, others are not entirely convinced of its benefits. One commenter cautions, “You gotta air out your bed or you’ll get bed mites they love heat and moisture.” Another observes, “I never understood why anyone would have to ‘make the bed.’ It’s my bed, it’s supposed to be my casual and chill place,” adding that covering it can trap dust mites, potentially harming health. A further critique states, “PLS DONT DO THIS Leaving your bed unmade in the morning offers several potential benefits, primarily related to hygiene and reducing dust mites, which can trigger allergies!!!”

Despite these concerns, many viewers expressed their intent to incorporate this method into their routines. Comments such as “thank you for sharing this, Conor,” and “shimmying out of bed and into the day ,” indicate a positive reception from certain segments of the audience. One user describes the concept as “honestly so wholesome.”

As discussions continue, it’s clear that this innovative bed-making technique has sparked a lively debate about morning routines and the best way to start the day.
