For those traversing higher altitudes, she advises packing extra water due to the dehydrating effects of altitude sickness. “When traveling through locations like Colorado, where elevation changes frequently occur, it’s essential to stay hydrated,” she explains.
Prepare an Emergency Kit for Your Vehicle
Your car plays a significant role in your road trip, similar to the passengers. Beyond personal belongings, it’s wise to have an emergency bag for the vehicle itself. “In addition to your personal supplies, include essentials for the car,” advises Hagerty. “Items like rags, windshield cleaners, and a jack are invaluable. While not everyone needs extensive tools, I suggest bringing a multi-tool and a flashlight as well.”
