Nvidia Unveils Third-Party AI Supercomputers: A Race to Innovate

Nvidia recently highlighted its advancements in AI technology with the introduction of its Grace Blackwell-powered “personal AI supercomputers.” In a significant move, the company announced that third-party manufacturers are permitted to create their own variations of this technology. Notable players like Asus, Dell, and HP have already stepped up to showcase their designs, all equipped with the innovative GB10 super chip found in Nvidia’s DGX Spark (previously referred to as Digits).

Among the first to unveil their offering is Asus with the Ascent GX10. This mini PC touts a processing capability of 1,000 AI TOPS and includes 128GB of unified memory, mirroring Nvidia’s Spark. However, the Ascent GX10 distinguishes itself with a consumer-friendly design, opting for a white plastic exterior featuring a decorative pattern, in contrast to the Spark’s metallic finish.

At this stage, Asus has yet to announce a price or open preorders for the GX10, leaving potential buyers eagerly anticipating more details.

HP has also entered the fray with its GB10 mini computer known as the ZGX Nano AI Station G1n. This model presents a more premium aesthetic, reminiscent of the Z2 mini workstation, and is designed to fit seamlessly into server racks—signifying its potential utility in professional environments.

Dell, too, has plans for its line, branding its devices with the name “Dell Pro Max With GB10.” These computers feature a straightforward black cube design that may appeal to less aesthetic-focused users and also offers functionality for server installations. Furthermore, Dell is showcasing the larger Pro Max with GB300, a workstation boasting an impressive 20 petaflops of AI capabilities, aligning with cutting-edge technology standards.

According to Dell, its new machines are expected to hit the market in early summer 2025, closely aligning with the anticipated launch of Nvidia’s own DGX Spark, which has already opened for reservations at a price point of $3,000.

While Asus and HP have remained silent on shipping dates for their models, there are indications that Lenovo might also join the ranks to create its own GB10 mini-computer. However, as of now, specific details regarding its design or features are still under wraps.
