Sophia Moreno-Bunge has established herself as a prominent name in the floral design industry, attracting a diverse clientele that includes notable brands such as goop and esteemed venues like the Proper Hotel in Santa Monica. Before ascending to this level of recognition, she contributed her insights to Gardenista, and today, we are excited to welcome her back for a brief yet engaging conversation.
As the founder of Isa Isa, a flourishing floral design studio named in honor of her Argentine grandmothers, Sophia crafts unique arrangements that incorporate local and foraged materials. Her creations are characterized by their emotional depth and individuality—going beyond mere beauty. Regardless of the scale of the project, each installation exudes a personal touch that resonates with viewers.
Deeply passionate about flowers, Sophia integrates her work into her living space. “I often purchase plants that are not readily available at the florist, and I distribute them throughout my apartment and garden in Santa Monica,” she shares. “This includes a variety of species such as orchids, farfugiums, roses, jasmines, and herbs. Currently, I manage hundreds of potted plants and I am in the process of establishing a cutting garden in Malibu!”
