Aamir Khan, known for his meticulous approach to filmmaking, is poised to evoke nostalgia as he prepares to release the sequel to his beloved film, Taare Zameen Par, titled Sitaare Zameen Par. The film is set to premiere this Christmas, reinvigorating fond memories for audiences.
In a recent appearance at the Republic Day 2025 celebrations at the Statue of Unity in Gujarat, Aamir shared insights about his forthcoming projects. During the event, he revealed that the climax of Sitaare Zameen Par was filmed in Vadodara, Gujarat, showcasing the region’s significance in his cinematic journey.
“The sequel to Taare Zameen Par is Sitaare Zameen Par,” Aamir stated. He expressed a deep connection to Gujarat, mentioning that many of his father’s films were shot there during his childhood, which has left a lasting impression on him. “There have been a lot of changes in Vadodara. There are many luxurious buildings now, and the roads have improved significantly,” he noted, reminiscing about his early visits to the state.
Aamir emphasized the longstanding association between Gujarat and the film industry, stating, “Gujarat has been closely associated with filmmaking for a long time. It is a very vibrant place, with a strong connection to cinema, culture, and art. From the film industry’s side, we would definitely love to come here and shoot.”
Continuing the narrative of Ishaan, the young boy portrayed by Darsheel Safary in the original film, Sitaare Zameen Par aims to explore further dimensions of the character’s journey. Aamir is not only starring in the film but also producing it, and he hinted at a captivating storyline. “We are trying to release it by the end of this year, on the occasion of Christmas. It is an entertaining film, and I like the story. The shooting of the film has begun,” he mentioned.
Genelia D’Souza is reported to have a significant role in the film, adding to the excitement surrounding the project. Aamir Khan’s Christmas releases, such as Dangal and PK, have traditionally performed well, and expectations are high for this latest venture as well. Whether it will elicit the same emotional responses as its predecessor remains to be seen, but anticipation is building around this new chapter in a cherished story.
