Omkara’s Writer Reveals Aamir Khan Initially Cast as Langda Tyagi, Jacqueline Fernandez in Talks for a Docu-Series on Sukesh Chandrashekhar

Recent revelations from the writer of Omkara, the critically acclaimed adaptation of Shakespeare’s Othello by director Vishal Bharadwaj, shed light on the casting decisions that defined the film. During discussions with writer Robin Bhatt, it was disclosed that Aamir Khan was originally slated to portray Langda Tyagi before Saif Ali Khan ultimately took on the role. Bhatt noted that after securing Ajay Devgn for the lead and Kareena Kapoor as the female lead, they faced a dilemma in casting for Langda Tyagi, given the interest from several prominent actors.

In a separate development, Jacqueline Fernandez’s name has emerged regarding a new docu-series centered on Sukesh Chandrashekhar, an individual whose controversial past garnered significant media attention in 2021. Reports suggest that a leading streaming platform is in the process of producing this compelling series, which will delve into Sukesh’s life, particularly the notorious Rs 200 crore extortion case. Fernandez has reportedly been approached to provide her perspective on the situation.

Actor Atul Kulkarni recently visited Pahalgam, just days after a tragic terror attack that occurred on April 22. On social media, he shared images from his trip and encouraged others to visit Kashmir. In an interview with ANI, the Rang De Basanti star emphasized the importance of returning to Kashmir, countering the fear that had resulted in a significant cancellation of bookings—reportedly 90 percent—post-attack. He declared, “Ye humara Kashmir hai, humara desh hai, hum to aayenge” (This is our Kashmir, this is our country, we will come).

Meanwhile, Sonakshi Sinha and Zaheer Iqbal made headlines as they walked the runway together for the first time at the Bombay Times Fashion Week, representing Aynaa World. Sinha took to her YouTube channel to offer followers a glimpse into their lighthearted moments backstage before the show.

In other news, veteran actor Paresh Rawal disclosed an unconventional method he used for recovering from a knee injury sustained during the filming of Rajkumar Santoshi’s Ghatak. After experiencing injury during a scene alongside Rakesh Pandey, Rawal recounted being rushed to Nanavati Hospital in Mumbai, feeling that his career might be at an end. Late action director Veeru Devgan visited him in the hospital and suggested a surprising remedy—consuming his own urine to expedite healing. Reflecting on this experience, Rawal remarked humorously that he drank it “like beer.”
