Quinta Brunson has decided to end her marriage to Kevin Anik after three and a half years, according to reports by TMZ. The acclaimed creator and star of the hit television series “Abbott Elementary” filed for divorce in Los Angeles County, citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the separation.
In the legal documents obtained by TMZ, it was revealed that the couple had a postnuptial agreement in place. Brunson is requesting that the court handle the division of their assets in accordance with the terms laid out in that agreement.
The couple does not have any children. Details regarding their relationship have been relatively private; they became engaged in July 2020 and are noted to have married in 2021. Since tying the knot, Brunson and Anik have maintained a low profile, sharing minimal information about their personal lives on social media platforms.
However, Brunson did acknowledge Anik during her acceptance speech for the Emmy Award she won for Outstanding Writing for a Comedy Series for “Abbott Elementary,” showcasing a glimpse of their connection publicly.
Brunson’s career in Hollywood has been remarkable. Beyond her role as an actress, she is also a talented comedian, writer, and producer, amassing two Emmy Awards alongside nine nominations throughout her journey in the industry.
