Chris Dinan Appointed Executive Producer of “World News Tonight”
ABC News has announced the appointment of Chris Dinan as the executive producer of the flagship broadcast “World News Tonight with David Muir.” Dinan assumes this role following the elevation of Almin Karamehmedovic to president of ABC News.
In his new position, Dinan will report directly to Karamehmedovic and will oversee all facets of the evening news program, continuing to lead the team with which he has worked closely for many years.
“Chris is an accomplished producer and gifted storyteller who has been a part of the ‘World News Tonight’ DNA for over 13 years, helping to shape the newscast and deliver the best reporting to serve our viewers,” said Karamehmedovic in ABC News’ official announcement. He emphasized that Dinan’s strong leadership and collaborative spirit with David Muir and the broader ABC News team would be instrumental in propelling the broadcast to even greater achievements.
Dinan began his journey with ABC News in 2011 and has held the position of senior broadcast producer for “World News Tonight” since 2014. Under his leadership, the team has garnered multiple Emmy Awards, notably for live news broadcasts in both 2023 and 2024.
Prior to joining ABC, Dinan started his career at CBS and has traveled extensively, producing reports from significant global conflict zones, including Iraq, Afghanistan, and Ukraine.
