On the first day of its release, the Hindi film recorded a modest overall occupancy rate of 7.44%. In the morning shows, the occupancy was around 5.60%, improving to nearly 11% by the evening. Chennai emerged as the city with the highest occupancy rate, followed by Hyderabad and Bengaluru.
In I Want To Talk, Abhishek Bachchan portrays a father grappling with terminal illness who seeks to mend his relationship with his estranged daughter. This film marks the first collaboration between Bachchan and director Shoojit Sircar. The cast also includes notable actors such as Johnny Lever, Banita Sandhu, Jayant Kriplani, and Ahilya Bamroo.
In an interview discussing his character, Abhishek shared insights about the emotional depth of his role. He remarked on the resilience required to face life’s challenges, stating, “Somebody who has dealt with the things that he has dealt with and continues to deal with, it’s very easy to be fed up after 31 odd years and say ‘bahut ho gaya hai, abhi aur nahi karna hai’ (I’ve had enough, I don’t want to go on). But no, the fact that he is still at it, still trying is what makes him truly courageous.”
Additionally, his father, the legendary Amitabh Bachchan, expressed his admiration for the film on social media, proclaiming it “magical.” He also highlighted the unique bond he shares with Abhishek, stating, “Mere bete, bete hone se mere uttaradhikari nahin honge; jo mere uttaradhikari honge woh mere bete honge. Abhishek mere bete; mere uttaradhikari (My son, being a son does not make him my successor; those who will be my successors will be my sons. Abhishek is my son, my successor).”
