TL;DR

The Pixel Weather app has introduced a pollen card feature for users in the US. This tracker offers detailed pollen counts for grass, trees, and weeds. The feature is being rolled out as part of the latest app version via server-side updates.

As April draws to a close, the pollen season is nearing its end. Despite this timing, Google has begun rolling out the pollen tracker feature in the Pixel Weather app to its users in the United States. This enhancement aims to assist individuals in managing their allergies effectively.

The pollen tracker was first introduced in October of last year, but initially, it was only accessible in select European countries, including France, Germany, Italy, and the UK. While there were expectations for broader availability, the timeline for the US launch remained uncertain.

Recently, 9to5Google reported that the feature is indeed making its way to US users through a server-side rollout of the latest version of the app. Although the US has not yet been added to Google’s support page, some users with Pixel devices have begun to see the pollen card appear. However, it is worth noting that this feature may not be universally available across all devices at this moment.

The pollen card itself offers three crucial data points concerning grass, trees, and weeds. Each pollen category is represented by a gauge ranging from zero to four, with four indicating a high concentration of pollen. By tapping the card, users can access a 3-5 day forecast for the respective categories. This expanded view also provides descriptions of the predominant pollen types for that day, tailored to the category selected.
