Actor Shine Tom Chacko Escapes Hotel Room Amid Drug Raid Following Allegations
Actor Shine Tom Chacko was reportedly seen fleeing from his hotel room in Kochi during a police drug raid on Wednesday night. The incident transpired around 11 pm and was captured on CCTV. Footage appears to show a man, believed to be Chacko, descending the stairs from the third floor of the hotel.
The raid was conducted by the Kochi City Police after accusations from actress Vincy Aloshious, who alleged that Chacko acted inappropriately while under the influence of drugs.
According to reports, when the police knocked on the door of Room 314, Chacko noticed law enforcement and attempted to escape through the hotel window. The operation, specifically targeting him, was executed by the District Anti-Narcotic Special Action Force (DANSAF), which is now conducting an investigation into the situation. A video of the incident is reportedly available for viewing.
Earlier, Vincy Aloshious had filed a complaint with the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA), asserting that Chacko’s conduct on the set of their film, Soothravakyam, was inappropriate. She described a troubling experience during the shoot where Chacko allegedly made her feel uncomfortable due to erratic behavior caused by substance use.
This development follows Vincy’s recent Instagram video where she addressed backlash stemming from her statements made during an anti-drug campaign. She had declared her decision to cease collaboration with actors involved in narcotics, detailing an unsettling event on a film set where a male co-star, reportedly under the influence, behaved inappropriately towards her and another actress.
In her complaint, Vincy identified Chacko as the actor whose behavior made her uncomfortable, recounting an incident where he offered to “fix” a wardrobe issue in a public setting. She alleged that she witnessed him exhaling a white, powdery substance during rehearsals. Responding to critics who suggested she was seeking attention, Vincy emphasized her commitment to maintaining professional boundaries rather than pursuing personal gain, stating, “I have the courage to admit I’m waiting for meaningful work. But this is about drawing boundaries at the workplace, not personal gain.”
