Adam Levine and Maroon 5 Extend Vegas Residency
Adam Levine is set to return to Las Vegas as Maroon 5’s residency at the Dolby Live at Park MGM gets extended into 2025. In a recent discussion with “Extra’s” Melvin Robert, Levine reflected on his time away from “The Voice,” where he stepped down in 2019 after 16 successful seasons. Excitingly, he will reprise his role as a coach in Season 27, slated for 2025.
During the interview, Melvin inquired about Levine’s well-being, to which Adam humorously responded about his busy day at Disneyland, saying, “Today I don’t feel that rested because I was with 400 kids at Disneyland yesterday doing birthdays, but I’d say in general, I feel pretty rested!”
As for the residency, Levine expressed enthusiasm about the show’s evolution, noting how the band initially had doubts about fitting into the Vegas scene. “At first we weren’t sure how we would fit in, but honestly, we fell madly in love with it, and the vibe is amazing, the theater is amazing,” he shared. He believes the simplicity and the engaging live rock ‘n’ roll experience they offer has resonated well with audiences.
Discussing the keys to his enduring success in the music industry, Levine highlighted the importance of continuous growth and experimentation. He stated, “I think, for me, always doing different things and finding new, like, subtle things to kind of challenge myself as someone who writes, as someone who performs.” He also acknowledged the physical aspect of performing, emphasizing the necessity of staying fit as he ages. “I’m obsessed with working out. I haven’t worked out in a week and I’m kinda tripping a little bit. I’m like, I need it,” he admitted.
After a three-year hiatus since the release of their last album, “Jordi,” Adam is currently delving into songwriting solo for the first time in years. “The lion’s share of the stuff is kind of in my creative brain now,” he explained, expressing excitement about this new direction. However, he also shared his apprehensions about sharing this new music. “I’m even more insecure about releasing new music now. I feel there is this new sense of ownership,” he remarked. “It’s one of my babies again, so you never know.”
Family Support and Future Plans
When asked about his children’s perceptions of seeing him on stage, Levine revealed that they are well-versed in his music. “They know every song. My kids still think I’m cool, which is like, okay, I’ve still got a few more years of that. I’m sure that’s gonna change at some point,” he stated with a chuckle.
Tickets for the extended “M5LV: The Residency” are currently available, with new performances scheduled to kick off in March.
