Aditya Seal Reflects on Khel Khel Mein’s Box Office Journey
Aditya Seal’s recent film, Khel Khel Mein, has not performed as anticipated at the box office, struggling against strong competition from other releases such as Stree 2. Despite its star-studded cast, the film did not connect significantly with audiences or critics alike. In a recent interview, Seal shared his thoughts on the film’s reception and the unpredictability of box office outcomes.
In discussions with Hindustan Times, Seal noted that while the film did not achieve commercial success, it did receive some positive feedback from viewers. He expressed, “You have to learn how to detach. The only good thing that I took away from that film was that it was loved. People who had seen the film, including reviewers and critics, remarked on how great it was, calling it a laughter riot.”
Reflecting further on the box office challenges, Seal stated, “Doing the numbers or not doing the numbers, is in nobody’s hands. Going out there with the right intent of making a good film and people appreciating it, is a job well done.” This perspective highlights the often fickle nature of box office performance, which can be affected by factors beyond the filmmakers’ control.
Initially released in theaters in August, Khel Khel Mein has subsequently transitioned to OTT platforms. Seal expressed optimism that the film will reach a wider audience through its digital release, potentially garnering more viewers than during its theatrical run. The movie, directed by Mudassar Aziz, centers around a group of friends who spend a night unveiling secrets hidden in their smartphones.
Alongside Aditya Seal, the film features a notable ensemble cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Taapsee Pannu, Ammy Virk, Fardeen Khan, Pragya Jaiswal, and Vaani Kapoor. Despite the film’s box office take of approximately Rs 56 crore, Seal continues to explore other projects, including his recent appearance in Amar Prem Ki Prem Kahaani, where he starred alongside Sunny Singh.
