Alec and Hilaria Baldwin Discuss Family Life Amidst Reality Show Launch

During a recent evening at the grand re-opening of Planet Hollywood in New York City, Alec and Hilaria Baldwin shared insights into their family life while speaking with “Extra’s” Mona Kosar Abdi. The couple also touched upon their new family reality television series, “The Baldwins.”

Reflecting on their night out, Hilaria recounted, “Kids are trying to go to bed… I had to sneak out.” Alec humorously noted, “Mommy has to go to work,” though this was met with resistance from their baby, who insisted, “I come, too.” Alec confirmed that all their children seem to want to join in on their outings.

The couple also discussed the culinary offerings at Planet Hollywood, which are known for their impressive dessert menu. Mona suggested they bring some treats back for the kids, to which Alec responded, “Because of her, they eat very healthy, but when dessert time comes you better show up.”

Hilaria expressed her excitement about the venue, saying, “I mean, it’s such an iconic New York place.” Alec reminisced about the history of Planet Hollywood, recalling how he attended the original opening years ago. “You were 6 years old when the first Planet Hollywood opened… I was here for the opening of the first Planet Hollywood,” he stated. He shared that the original founders, including notable figures like Bruce Willis and Arnold Schwarzenegger, played a significant role in establishing its celebrity-themed concept.

Mona also inquired about the transition from scripted acting to unscripted reality television, asking Alec whether it’s more challenging to memorize scripts or to truly be oneself on camera. Alec admitted the latter can be quite difficult, saying, “Oh, it’s so hard, it’s so hard… because you don’t want it to be dull.” He acknowledged that maintaining family routines is essential for their kids, but expressed a desire to bring a sense of fun to the show. Hilaria chimed in, noting, “We just cut all that part out,” reflecting on their approach to editing out overly curated moments.

Alec also shared his feelings about family life, stating, “I have a home, and when I’m not home, I want to go home.” This underscores the couple’s commitment to family, even amid their busy schedules.

Looking ahead, Hilaria hinted at the future of their reality show, suggesting that they are eager to hear audience feedback. “This is a really raw show and it’s very real. We took a lot of chances… we’ll see where it leads us,” she noted, adding, “It feels very cathartic to have everything be out there.”

In addition to their television endeavors, Hilaria and her daughter Carmen are set to release a book titled “Glowing Up: Recipes to Rock Your Natural Beauty.” Hilaria expressed pride in Carmen’s creativity with skincare, saying they compiled their home recipes into this new project. The book aims to encourage readers to manage their self-esteem while navigating societal pressures.

Hilaria emphasized the importance of these projects in sharing their personal narrative, stating, “These projects that we’re doing are very much about sharing ourselves and taking control of our own story.” Alec took a moment to laud his wife, saying, “I hope people read my wife’s book and realize what an unusually amazing woman she is.” He further described her as “probably the most special person I’ve ever met in my life.”
