As Aurangzeb you were incredible @rashmika_mandanna so so beautiful… those eyes!! Congratulations @laxman.utekar sir for this wonderful movie and all the love and praise that is coming your way.” Marking a significant achievement, Chhaava has become the fastest film to surpass Rs 200 crore in 2025.
The film’s remarkable box office performance has placed its total collection at Rs 197.5 crore within just six days, with projections suggesting it will easily breach the coveted Rs 200 crore mark today.

He made this announcement on X (formerly Twitter), celebrating the release of the film in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj, highlighting its significance in portraying his legacy through the character of his son, Sambhaji Maharaj.
Directed by Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan under the Maddock Films banner, Chhaava weaves a gripping narrative around the life of Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj, played by Vicky Kaushal. Rashmika Mandanna takes on the role of Maharani Yesubai, with Akshaye Khanna embodying the fierce Mughal emperor Aurangzeb. The film features several other notable actors, including Ashutosh Rana as Sarsenapati Hambirao Mohite and Divya Dutta as Soyarabai, Sambhaji’s stepmother. This cinematic piece is adapted from the acclaimed Marathi novel Chhava by Shivaji Sawant and is further enhanced by an evocative soundtrack composed by A.R. Rahman, with lyrics written by Irshad Kamil.
