Alia Bhatt discusses her music aspirations during a conversation with Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Alia Bhatt has recently been in the spotlight for her musical abilities, showcased in films such as Jigra. The actress initially gained attention for her singing talent through her performances in songs like “Samjhawan” in Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhaniya and “Ik Kudi” for Udta Punjab. However, her fellow actress Kareena Kapoor Khan questioned Bhatt’s commitment to a singing career and whether she would consider releasing her own single.
In a humorous moment on Kareena’s talk show, What Women Want, she asked Bhatt, “You’re not considering a singing career? I’m not sure if your voice is that great.” The playful banter resulted in laughter from both actresses, with Alia firmly stating that she is not pursuing a career in music.
Alia replied, “No, definitely not. Vedang can sing and play, so he could potentially record an album. I can sing in the privacy of my bathroom, but when it comes to professional recording, I would require assistance.” When pressed further by Kareena about recording a single, Alia reminisced, “There was a moment when I had thoughts about it, but that is where it ended.”
On another note, Bhatt’s latest film Jigra, co-starring Vedang Raina, has recently hit theaters and is garnering mixed reactions from audiences and critics alike. A review by News18 Showsha awarded it 4.5 out of 5 stars, noting that even with its 2-hour and 35-minute runtime, the film delivers an engaging viewing experience. The intense jailbreak scene in the latter part of the movie was highlighted as a particularly thrilling moment, keeping viewers on the edge of their seats.
The review also pointed out that while the film may be rich in drama, it never feels overly theatrical, thanks in part to the performances and direction. It was further compared to the classic film Gumrah, starring Sanjay Dutt and Sridevi, suggesting that Jigra serves as a refreshing reminder of Bollywood’s potential. With its bold storytelling and dynamic characters, Jigra has been described as a must-see film, offering a blend of excitement and emotional depth.
