Prime Minister Narendra Modi Issues Strong Condemnation of Recent Attack

In the wake of a tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Kashmir, prominent figures have voiced their outrage and condolences. The attack, which led to the deaths of several tourists, has drawn condemnation from various celebrities and public figures, including actress Alia Bhatt, who has taken to social media to express her grief.

Alia Bhatt described the attack as heartbreaking, highlighting the loss of innocent lives and the suffering of families who were simply seeking tranquility and beauty during their visit. Her emotional message resonated with many, as she acknowledged the collective grief shared whenever such violence occurs.

In her Instagram stories, Alia wrote, “The news from Pahalgam is heartbreaking. Innocent lives lost. Tourists, families, people who were just…living. Seeking beauty. Seeking peace. And now there’s only grief. And the unbearable weight of it.” She emphasized the toll such incidents take on humanity and extended prayers for the victims and their families.

Other celebrities have also reacted with sadness. Kareena Kapoor expressed her condolences, while actor Adil remarked on X, expressing devastation over the brutal killings and reflecting on his previous visit to the region with his family. He called for long-term solutions to end such atrocities.

Anushka Sharma similarly expressed her heartbreak regarding the incident, labeling it a heinous act that should never be forgotten and sending heartfelt prayers to the victims’ families. Rashmika Mandanna conveyed her sorrow through an Instagram post, and Ram Charan characterized the attack as unacceptable and called for strong condemnation.

This tragic incident occurred on April 22, 2025, when militants from The Resistance Front (TRF) opened fire on a gathering of Hindu tourists in Baisaran meadow, situated in Anantnag district. The attack, referred to as the Pahalgam Massacre, resulted in the deaths of at least 28 individuals, with more than 20 others sustaining injuries.

Responding to the atrocity, Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his profound condemnation of the terror attack via social media, extending condolences to the bereaved families and wishing for a swift recovery for the injured. He affirmed that authorities would ensure justice for those responsible for this heinous act.

Modi vowed, “Those behind this heinous act will be brought to justice…they will not be spared! Their evil agenda will never succeed. Our resolve to fight terrorism is unshakable, and it will get even stronger.”
