Teddi Mellencamp Provides Hopeful Update on Cancer Battle
Teddi Mellencamp has recently shared uplifting news regarding her ongoing fight against cancer. The former reality TV star, who received a melanoma diagnosis, has been actively undergoing treatment for tumors located in her brain and lungs.
In a heartfelt post on Instagram, Mellencamp announced, “One update I couldn’t wait to share! All tumors (metastasized melanoma in my brain and lungs) shrunk or disappeared so I have 6ish more weeks of immunotherapy and doctors believe I will be healed if everything stays on course.” She expressed her gratitude to her supporters, stating, “Thank you to everyone who has sent their love, prayers, and positivity .”

Accompanying her written update, Mellencamp recorded a video, sharing her excitement and mentioning that the progress in her treatment has brought her to tears of joy. She noted that the positive developments contribute to her doctors’ optimism regarding her recovery.
Mellencamp highlighted her treatment plan, revealing that she has two more sessions of immunotherapy ahead and is hopeful about achieving freedom from cancer. She mentioned maintaining a “positive outlook,” reinforcing her resilience throughout this trying time.
Her doctor’s supportive words struck a chord with her, as he remarked, “You got that Mellencamp blood, so you’re good.”
In a conversation with “Extra’s” Billy Bush last week, Mellencamp opened up further about her health journey. She shared how the messages from individuals inspired by her courage to seek medical check-ups have helped maintain her positivity. “I would say a big thing has been all the people messaging me saying, ‘I went and got checked because of you,’” she noted.
Recalling her earlier battle with skin cancer, Mellencamp explained, “What we have to remember is my cancer was skin cancer. The last time we spoke here was, like, I had skin cancer, melanoma, on my back. This metastasized, which is still a form of melanoma, but into my brain, into my lungs.” She revealed the gravity of her situation by describing the four plum-sized tumors she previously had in her brain, emphasizing the importance of regular screenings despite not having a CAT scan prior to their discovery.
Looking to the future, Mellencamp mentioned her upcoming appointments, stating, “Wednesday, I go in and get my next CAT scan, where they’ll find out if these recent tumors are getting smaller, and then I also get my third round of immunotherapy. I always thought radiation was the one that was going to kick my butt, but it’s been immunotherapy.”
