Producer Allu Aravind Addresses Controversy Surrounding Ram Charan
At a recent press conference, producer Allu Aravind expressed his deep affection for his nephew, Ram Charan, urging fans to move past the recent misunderstandings.
Following comments made by Allu Aravind at a pre-release event for his latest production, Thandel, tensions grew among Ram Charan’s supporters who perceived Aravind’s remarks as a negative reference to Charan’s recent film, Game Changer, which did not perform well. In response to these claims, Allu Aravind clarified that his words were unintentional and sparked by a miscommunication.
During the press conference in Hyderabad, Allu Aravind stated, “This is an emotional and personal matter for me, and I feel the need to clarify. When I made comments about Dil Raju, my intention was solely to highlight the rapid changes in fortunes over the past week.” He acknowledged the backlash he received from fans and reaffirmed his affectionate bond with Ram Charan, describing him as a son. “Charan is like my son… as he is my only menalludu (sister’s son), and I am his only mavayya (maternal uncle). Our relationship is strong, so I ask everyone to let this be,” he emphasized. Aravind further remarked that he realizes now that he should have refrained from discussing the topic altogether.
Clarification on Game Changer Remarks
For context, during the previous event for Thandel, Allu Aravind made references to the box office outcomes of various films, implicitly contrasting the negative performance of Game Changer, which starred Ram Charan and Kiara Advani, with a more successful project. In a moment that drew significant attention, Aravind gestured to emphasize the difference in the film’s performances while commenting on the challenges faced by producer Dil Raju following a recent income tax raid. His lighthearted remarks were interpreted by some fans as a slight against Ram Charan.
Thandel, which features actors Naga Chaitanya and Sai Pallavi, was released on February 7. Directed by Chandoo Mondeti, the film draws inspiration from actual events that occurred in the village of D Matchilesam in the Srikakulam district of Andhra Pradesh. Allu Aravind produced the film under his banner, Geetha Arts, with Bunny Vasu as a co-producer.
