Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule Continues Record-Breaking Success
Released on December 5, Allu Arjun’s film Pushpa 2: The Rule has been shattering previous box office records. The Hindi dubbed adaptation of the film has notably surpassed the ₹800 crore milestone in India, marking a significant achievement in the industry.
The film, featuring Allu Arjun alongside Rashmika Mandanna and Fahadh Faasil, has maintained a strong presence at the box office, holding steady in its third and fourth weeks post-release. Directed by Sukumar, the movie’s success demonstrates its wide appeal among audiences. Its Hindi version has officially reached over ₹800 crore, making it the first dubbed Hindi film to achieve this feat.
On social media, Mythri Movie Makers celebrated this milestone, stating, “Brand #Pushpa inaugurates 𝟖𝟎𝟎 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐄 CLUB in Hindi #Pushpa2TheRule has a RECORD BREAKING COLLECTION in Hindi with 𝟖𝟎𝟔 𝐂𝐑𝐎𝐑𝐄𝐒 𝐍𝐄𝐓𝐓 in 31 days.” This announcement highlights the film’s impressive run and popularity across various demographics.
However, figures from Sacnilk.com present a slightly different narrative, reporting that the Hindi version has brought in ₹785.7 crore, falling short of the ₹800 crore target. Overall, across all languages, Pushpa 2 has generated an astonishing ₹1202.2 crore in gross earnings as of January 4.
In Pushpa 2, Allu Arjun reprises his role as Pushpa Raj, with Rashmika Mandanna portraying Srivalli and Fahadh Faasil taking on the role of the antagonist, SP Bhanwar Singh Shekhawat. The film has garnered critical acclaim and set the stage for its anticipated sequel, Pushpa 3: The Rampage, which is already in the works.
Despite its tremendous success, Pushpa 2 has not been without controversy. At its premiere on December 4, a tragic incident occurred, leading to the death of a 35-year-old woman named Revathi and leaving her young son injured due to a stampede. Following the event, Allu Arjun was arrested on December 13 in relation to the incident, but was released on interim bail the next day. According to bail conditions, he is required to report to the Chikkadpally police station every Sunday until January 10 or until the investigation progresses with a charge sheet.
Regardless of the surrounding controversy, Pushpa 2: The Rule has firmly established its significance in the annals of Indian cinema, not only with its record sales but also with its profound impact on cultural narratives within the industry.
