Amazon is exploring the possibility of displaying tariff surcharges on ultra-low-price items available through its platform, known as Amazon Haul, a company representative confirmed to CNBC.
“The team managing our ultra-low-cost Amazon Haul store has contemplated indicating import charges on specific products,” an Amazon spokesperson stated. “This has never been a consideration for the main Amazon site, and no implementations have been made across any Amazon properties.”
Earlier reports from Punchbowl News indicated that Amazon is expected to “soon” start displaying tariff costs alongside the prices of individual items, based on insights from an informed source.
