AMD Unveils New Ryzen Processors Aimed at Gamers and Creators
AMD has officially announced the impending release of its latest gaming processors, the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D, which are set to hit the market next week. These new models are designed to outperform the acclaimed 9800X3D, a processor that has garnered recognition as a leading choice for gaming enthusiasts.
Both the Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D boast an impressive architecture, featuring 16 Zen 5 cores alongside advanced second-generation 3D V-Cache technology. This enhancement not only caters to gamers but also supports users engaged in intensive productivity tasks, such as photo editing and computer-aided design (CAD).
The flagship model, Ryzen 9 9950X3D, is priced at $699 and includes 16 cores and 32 threads. It offers a base clock speed of 4.3 GHz, with the ability to boost up to 5.7 GHz. Additionally, it features a substantial 144MB cache and has a thermal design power (TDP) of 170W, which indicates its powerful performance capabilities.
In a recent statement shared on X, AMD’s Senior Vice President and General Manager of Computing & Graphics, Jack Huynh, declared that the new processors would represent “the world’s best” options for both gaming and content creation. This positioning could also enable the chips to compete effectively in workstation environments, intensifying the competition with Intel’s Core Ultra 9 285K. Interestingly, AMD’s 9900X3D model will retail for $599, slightly above Intel’s comparable offering at $589.
The Ryzen 9 9950X3D and 9900X3D will be available for preorder starting March 12th. This launch follows closely on the heels of AMD’s recent introduction of its highly competitive Radeon RX 9070 and 9070 XT graphics processing units, indicating a robust push to strengthen its product lineup in the gaming and content creation sectors.
