Highlights from the Latest Week on American Idol: Top 24 Performances

The eagerly awaited performances from the Top 24 contestants of American Idol took place at the picturesque Aulani, a Disney Resort and Spa in Hawaii, during the recent Sunday and Monday nights. Judges Carrie Underwood, Lionel Richie, and Luke Bryan expressed their admiration for the exceptional talent showcased this season. As audiences tuned in, the excitement built over which contestants would secure their spots and who might face elimination when the Top 20 is announced on Sunday, April 20.

Following the performances, a poll conducted by Gold Derby gathered viewer reactions to the contestants’ renditions. After a significant number of votes were cast, it was Jamal Roberts who emerged as the standout performer on Sunday night, impressing audiences with his rendition of “Liar” by Jelly Roll. He was closely followed by Slater Nalley with “Over the Rainbow,” Breanna Nix performing “Still Rolling Stones,” and Gabby Samone with “It’s All Coming Back to Me Now.”

The results from the Sunday poll are as follows:

  • Jamal Roberts — 24.9 percent
  • Slater Nalley — 20.95 percent

  • Isaiah Misailegalu — 1.78 percent
  • Zaylie Windsor — 1.78 percent

From these results, Gold Derby anticipates that Penny Samar and Che may be at risk of elimination, along with potential danger for Zaylie Windsor and Isaiah Misailegalu.
