Amy Schumer and Jillian Bell Discuss “Kinda Pregnant” and the Art of Comedy
Amy Schumer and Jillian Bell recently shared insights into their comedic project “Kinda Pregnant” during an interview with “Extra.” In the film, Schumer portrays a character grappling with jealousy over her best friend’s impending motherhood, which leads to her donning a fake baby bump. The plot intensifies as she unexpectedly encounters the man of her dreams.
The duo openly discussed the biggest fibs they’ve told in their lives, particularly poking fun at the notion of faking satisfaction in intimate situations. Schumer humorously stated, “I guess just every orgasm,” to which Bell playfully added, “Every orgasm in your 20s.” Their camaraderie allowed for a lively moment where they both demonstrated their versions of a memorable scene from “When Harry Met Sally.”
Schumer also elaborated on a challenging scene in the movie involving a yoga ball and co-star Will Forte. She described the physical exertion required for the scene, saying, “It was extremely physically challenging. Thank God for intimacy coordinators… Ours brought this inflatable little yoga ball, and so that’s what I’m humping, and Will is, like, taped… like, there’s major genital tape. There’s just nothing sexual about it in any way.” She humorously added that her usual intimate experiences with her husband are nothing like the physical marathon required for the film, leaving her quite sore afterward.
Schumer Reacts to Streaming Success
In addition to discussing her film, Schumer addressed her recent viral success on “Saturday Night Live” with her skit “Porn Teacher.” She remarked on its unexpected popularity, stating, “It’s not the funniest scene at all; it’s just that the word ‘porn’ is in it, ‘Porn Teacher’ and it’s just me in this atrocious wig and… just 100 million views. I just keep thinking, oh my God, my son is going to see this.”
Jillian Bell chimed in with a playful reference to the iconic “Cowbell” sketch, questioning whether it surpassed that skit in views. Schumer confirmed, “More than ‘Cowbell,’ more than ‘Debbie Downer’… by a lot.”
Fans can look forward to “Kinda Pregnant,” which is set to premiere on Netflix on February 5.
