Allison Holker Discusses Life After tWitch’s Passing

Allison Holker has candidly reflected on a significant transformation in her late husband, Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who tragically took his life in December 2022. During an appearance on “The Jamie Kern Lima Show,” the dancer and choreographer promoted her memoir, “This Far: My Story of Love, Loss and Embracing the Light.”

In a revealing conversation, Holker shared insights from her book, particularly surrounding a transformative experience tWitch had with ayahuasca, a plant medicine known for its psychoactive properties. Host Jamie Kern Lima highlighted that after the journey, Stephen seemed to change profoundly, losing his usual joy and generosity. Holker echoed this sentiment, identifying the ayahuasca experience as a pivotal moment. She expressed concern that it had uncovered some unhealed aspects of his inner self, suggesting that while he could still experience joy, a crucial element seemed to be missing from his spirit.

Holker recounted a poignant moment from the night before his death. She received a text from tWitch featuring a tree emoji, which she initially interpreted as a sign that he was at a dispensary. However, upon his return home, she sensed something was wrong. Reflecting on the events leading up to his passing, she noted that he had been at the Oak Tree Inn, where a tree resembling the emoji was present. This raised unsettling questions for her about his state of mind that night—whether he had attempted to take his life before coming home, leaving her with confusion and a sense of uncertainty.

Visions of Stephen After His Passing

Following tWitch’s death, Holker shared a spiritual experience where she felt his presence. One exhausting day while attempting to soothe their daughter Zaia, Holker described how the room seemed to vibrate, and she perceived three faces in her mind’s eye, culminating in an encounter with tWitch’s face. He expressed love and regret, delivering a sense of comfort that allowed both of them to finally sleep. Holker believes that these encounters have continued, with both her and her 16-year-old daughter, Weslie, feeling tWitch’s presence, sometimes bringing peace and at other times evoking fear.

Holker emphasized that she understands tWitch’s love for their family and his protective instincts, believing he thought he made the right choice in his final moments. Yet, she grapples with the aftermath of his decision, particularly for their children. Holker acknowledged that their kids are hurt and actively engaging in therapy to navigate their emotions, stating that there is a profound amount of healing needed as they cope with the loss.

She noted, “There is a lot to unpack for them that they will have to deal with the rest of their lives.” Through her words, it becomes evident that while she has come to terms with her feelings towards tWitch’s choice, the journey of healing for herself and her children continues.
