Apple Unveils Visual Intelligence Feature with iPhone 16
In a significant update at its September 2024 event, Apple has launched a new feature dubbed Visual Intelligence, which resembles Google’s Lens technology. This innovation is designed to enhance the iPhone 16’s ability to interact with the world through its camera.
The feature is conveniently activated through a newly introduced touch-sensitive button located on the device’s right side, known as the Camera Control button. Users can engage this function with a simple click, allowing Visual Intelligence to recognize various objects, deliver pertinent information, and suggest actions based on the items it detects. For example, directing the camera at a restaurant will yield immediate access to its menu and ratings, while a snapshot of an event flyer can be effortlessly added to the calendar. Additionally, this tool can help users identify dog breeds or even facilitate online searches for potential bike purchases with just a point and click.
Apple emphasizes the privacy aspect of Visual Intelligence, asserting that the tool operates without the company collecting any data related to users’ interactions.
This is a developing story…
