Potential Innovations in Apple’s Vision Pro’s Successor
One of the notable concerns surrounding the Apple Vision Pro headset is its weight, which, combined with its premium pricing, has raised eyebrows among potential users. Reports indicate that Apple is actively working on solutions for these issues in the upcoming model, with plans to integrate titanium into the design of the next-generation device.
Insights from industry tipster Kosutami on platform X suggest that the use of titanium will not be extensive across the entire frame of the headset. Instead, it appears that titanium will primarily be used for the internal components, with the exterior of the headset remaining aluminum, coated in a shade of black that closely resembles the “dark graphite blue” of the iPhone 5 era.
Furthermore, speculation indicates that the upcoming AR headset may break away from the “Vision Pro 2” designation and instead adopt a simpler name, such as “Vision” or “Vision Air,” which could mirror its anticipated lightweight characteristics.
As Apple seeks to enhance the device while also addressing its cost, the integration of titanium raises questions regarding balancing material quality with manufacturing expenses, given that titanium is generally seen as a premium material.
