Asmongold Exits OTK: A New Chapter in Streaming

Twitch streamer Asmongold has confirmed his departure from the gaming organization OTK after stepping down from his leadership position towards the end of 2024.

In a live session on February 21, 2025, Asmongold responded to a fan’s inquiry regarding his association with OTK, a group that was established in October 2020.

After nearly four years with the organization, Asmongold shared that he has officially distanced himself from the group.

When a follower asked, “You got kicked out of OTK, didn’t you?” Asmongold replied candidly, “Yeah. I’m not involved with OTK at all, pretty much. I haven’t been, for a while. I’m chilling. If there’s something going on, with them or anything else, that’s up to them. It’s not my thing.”

Asmongold: Political Content Influenced His Departure

Asmongold elaborated on his decision to leave, describing himself as a “very relaxed guy” and highlighting that his political content played a significant role in his exit from OTK.

He explained the challenges associated with merging controversial political topics with more mainstream content, stating, “Doing controversial political content is really hard to synthesize with content that’s not like that, because of how extreme and polarizing it is. It’s harder to find sponsors, it’s harder to do things for that reason.”

Moreover, Asmongold expressed a desire to avoid negatively impacting others due to his personal direction, stating, “I don’t want to grief other people because I’m going down what I think to be the best direction for my channel, my career, my actions. This is what I wanna do as a person.”

He stressed that his departure from OTK was a “mutual” agreement, affirming, “Even if it wasn’t, I would still agree with it.”

His decision comes at a time of significant transition for OTK, highlighted by another member, Emiru, removing most OTK-related branding from her social media accounts on the same day. Additionally, fellow streamer Wake Wilder hinted at potential changes within the organization, indicating, “if we can’t make it a better place, if we can’t make it a happier healthier place, then I’ll have to reevaluate where I stand.”

Asmongold had previously stepped back from his role in OTK in October 2024 following backlash over his remarks related to the conflict in Palestine. Now, he has fully severed ties with the organization as he continues to produce content with a political focus.
